BankWest announced today the appointment of Aaron Milburn as its new head of broker sales.
A strong and effective leader is a key driver in delivering the bank's vision to focus on quality, said Mark Reid BankWest's head of retail sales.
"Aaron is talented, experienced and thoroughly focused. He has an in-depth knowledge of the local market, and a real understanding of the broking and mortgage industry," he added.
Reid said Milburn's key objective is "to ensure quality across every interaction with brokers".

It really doesn''t matter who''s in charge of the BW broker channel. The problem is with their offering to brokers. For the last few years, their service has been lousy (try calling the helpdesk & waiting to ''be happy'' for 20 min). The broker channel doesn''t have access to any decent products at the moment, BW keeps withdrawing them from the broker channel and maintaining them in the branches. They also tried to cut commissions in 2009 to effectively zero. This is a bank that doesn''t have any respect for brokers anymore. They''ve got a long way to improve before they see my business again.

Very true Peter i do not know how they can even say they have a broker presence. What they have is an outlet for all the loans they don''t want or their retail can''t sell. Easy because they are the worst on their books. There is no quality across their interaction with brokers in fact they insult us by saying they are commited to the broker channel yet are clearly not.
