The MFAA has launched a national integrated advertising campaign aimed at communicating the benefits of dealing with their accredited mortgage and finance broker members.
“When selecting home loan offerings, consumers want to deal with brokers that belong to an association which displays the highest levels of professionalism and education – and one that is not afraid to take disciplinary actions to protect consumer interests,” said CEO Phil Naylor.
“Consumers instantly recognise the power of a ‘stamp of approval’. As Australia’s largest mortgage and finance broker association, our members are setting the industry benchmark. We want to consumers to understand an MFAA ‘stamp’ symbolises they are dealing with a broker they can trust,” Naylor said.
The campaign aims to make the organisation the most sought after credential in broking by positioning the membership badge as a mechanism that will deliver a competitive advantage for their business.
“We believe that our members should be sought-out by consumers; that membership should be a major decision-making factor when choosing a broker and that consumers should recognise MFAA members are the high performers of the industry,” Naylor said. More than 78% of surveyed members said they support our rigorous accreditation process and want it to exceed regulatory standards.”
The six month consumer awareness campaign started this week, two weeks prior to the introduction of a new legislation aimed at tightening responsible lending provisions.
The National Consumer Credit Protection (NCCP) Act encourages responsible lending, professionalism and greater service delivery in the industry, licensing starts 1 July with the full act commencing January 2011.
