MFAA launches $1.4m ad campaign

The MFAA has announced a $1.4m ad campaign to promote a new era of professionalism.

The campaign was announced at the industry body's annual national conference yesterday.

National president Joe Sirianni told attendees that the MFAA is raising the bar for its members.

"It is encumbent on all of us to lift the standards of the profession," he said. "We can not wait for the government to tell us how to be professional."

Sirianni said the MFAA's goal was to lift the proportion of customers using a broker from 40% to 50%.

CEO Phil Naylor said that the professional body had to enforce high standards as well as setting them.

"The hallmark of a professional organization is not only having high standards but also enforcing them," he said.

Since October last year, 1,500 members have been terminated for not obtaining their Cert IV, four members have been expelled and 11 members have been suspended.

As a broker in a Major Regional centre , will they be using the reegional press say TV Aggregation services for regional broadcasters

I am a concerned member that the MFAA is spending their cash on this.

I am worried we are about to lose a lot of members due to licensing and we are going to need these monies in the future to pay towards education and providing an enviroment for us to discuss important industry topics.

I am a big fan of the concept but you dont get much for $1.4 Million using TV.

The move to Licensing is positive for the industry, but negative for the MFAA. The more rules that are applied, the less need for a second policeman. We are about to become over regulated and over charged by ourselves as the MFAA seeks to justify its existence.
Spend the money on training, we can run a grass roots campaign to sell the MFAA.

Yes spend it on training. Nothing like turning up for a video conference that didn''t work and then no reply to a follow up email. If they want to raise the bar for it''s members it would be helpful if they could at least complete the basic''s as an organisation first, like return an email.

We in the regional areas will be forgotten about again.

Perhaps a radio campaign on regional and rural stations will give you a greater reach for money. We suffer from postcode restrictions and a lack of an awareness campaign from the mfaa. What about it mfaa.

Dear REGIONAL, MFAA have said they''ve been running ads nationally on regional TV (WIN TV, GO! and Channel 9) for one year now. What are you watching?
