NAB shifts attention to online mortgages

NAB is looking to add online mortgages to its distribution networks.

An expansion of its internet savings platform Ubank would help the bank attract a new set of customers, said group executive of NAB personal banking Lisa Gray.

She also told the AFR that the channel would complement existing distribution channels; although a final decision about whether to sell mortgages through Ubank would be made in the first half of 2010.

ING Direct has so far led the banking industry in online banking.
