Chief executive of BankSA, Rob Chapman, will step into a new role as chief executive of St. George Bank on 1 December this year, due to the retirement of current chief executive Greg Bartlett.

Chapman has been with BankSA as CEO - as well as a group executive of St. George - for the past eight years, during which time BankSA has maintained a record of double digit growth in cash earnings.

Chapman's experience includes a previous role as a regional manager at CBA, while his expertise covers financial planning, insurance, banking, sales and management.

Bartlett said the time had come to "pass the baton", following the bedding down of the Westpac merger. “We knew we had a critical role to play in making themulti-brand strategy a success and I am very proud of what our people have been able to achieve while preserving our customer service culture," he said.
