Fresh from its bank ‘break-up’, NAB, invited brokers to Sydney’s Hilton Hotel at the end of March as part of its national NAB Broker roundtable. Fronted by John Flavell, the event garnered a huge turnout of over 300 professionals.

Suncorp rallied its top Sydney-based broker supporters for drinks and canapés at Bicentennial Park in mid-March. The mood was upbeat, as Suncorp’s Danny Robinson promised to support brokers and take competition to the majors.

Following the conclusion of a deal that saw it take a strategic stake in Members First, WA-based aggregator Ballast hit the East Coast to meet its new members over dinner, as well as talking "shop" on the merger.

Vow Financial hosted its first national conference in October, at the spectacular Sanctuary Cove. Living up to its "Green Light!" theme, Vow delivered a range of sessions and activities that gave its brokers the ammunition to meet competition head on in the coming year.

PLAN Australia invited NSW brokers to Cypress Lakes Resort in the Hunter Valley in October for two days of information, motivation and networking, as the aggregator geared up to ‘PLAN, Lead, Succeed’.

Bankwest held state-based cocktail functions across Australia in September to reward the achievements its top performing individual brokers, groups and upcoming rookies.
