Survey results show age discrimination is common in the mortgage and finance industry - and it's not just older workers feeling snubbed

Discrimination exists blatantly. I recently had a client tell me a well known bank had told her, when applying for a commercial loan, that at the age of 30 she was most likely going to start a family soon which meant she would not be spending as much time in her business from thereon. They declined her loan application because the profit would drop as a result!

I am surprised that wozza experienced the exact same thing I did though that happened to me 15 years ago. I was the major bread winner at the time and applied for a mortgage without my partners involvement, they would not consider me unless he was on the docs too.
