ASIC hits the road

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission is embarking on a national road show this February.

The road show is aimed at helping providers and businesses assisting consumers obtain credit to comply with the new National Consumer Credit Regime.

It will hit every state and territory capital and 24 regional centres from 15 February through to April 2010.

"The roadshow will provide a face-to-face opportunity for industry to hear how the legal requirements have changed and how people can best prepare," it said.

The road show will also explain the licensing process and answer common questions such as who needs to be licensed and what credit activities the new regime encompasses.

For a full list of the dates, locations and venues for each session, visit www.asic.gov.au/credit

Attendees are required to RSVP. To secure a seat, go to www.asic.gov.au/credit and select the session you wish to attend. Attendance is free.

If you have any questions, you can contact ASIC on 1300 300 630 or email infoline@asic.gov.au.
