The Australian housing market has a bright future, and Gen Ys will be the ones to lead it there, a social demographer has claimed

Disagree with this - GFC1 will be followed by GFC2. The global economy still hasn't fixed its core issue, the debt!

The U.S. will head into a recession, it's debt is far too heavy.

Europe will experience more shocks, again all underpinned by too much debt.

China will move to slow down its groth further, impacting us at some point.

Our markets WILL follow the U.S. lead.

Our Federal government is altering too many dials on the National Dashboard at once, about to introduce 3 more taxes and won't have $$billions to spend on getting us out of a sink hole that is coming.

Property values are easing, and will head down further due to affordability issues across the whole economy.... using increased immigration to fuel demand is a sure-fire process that ends with a bang!

    Mortgage defaults are rising.

Our National Debt-to-GDP ratio is climbing.... it's exactly like the LVR relationship between borrowing and the house value, instead in this case our Federal Government has lifted the National Debt to an LVR level that would normally require insurance, but we have none.

As for Gen Y, I just don't agree with Mr. Salt at all.

Gen Y is moving in the same direction as the European experience... i.e. more and more will be and are becoming conditioned to rent.

If you want to know what will happen in the years ahead, and what will happen to the Great Aussie Dream of Home Owenership, look to Europe.... people became so adamant that they don't want the stress so saw their parents and families go through, they just got rid of aspirations of wanting to own a house, they then focussed on career, fun, and enjoying life!

Kids are already thinking they same stuff here.... this will translateinto strong views around not owning a house, they don't want the stress..... our Politicians have seen to that!
