Negative gearing may merely be the scapegoat in the ongoing affordability debate, according to the AFR, citing it is low interest rates that are the real culprit

    How about a more even playing field? Foreign Investors pay an extra 5% Federal purchase tax and FIRST established home buyers get the interest paid on their mortgage tax deducted!? A bit of gearing for FH buyers too!
