The Australian Bankers' Association has claimed there are already high levels of switching between financial institutions, but has welcomed reform

What a whole lot of bloody nonsense the governments go on with!!!!
Why don't they just focus on governing for the majority and what is relevant to the most important area, cost of living and interest rates, taxes, petrol and so on. Just a political football the finance industry and seems we as brokers are suffering the brunt by way of costs and rediculous legislation that is additional cost and no benefit to clients or our bottom line

To think our Federal ( Nanny) Government would be wasting it’s time fiddling with minor details such as this, one would’ve thought that they would have much more constructive things to do with their resources

How are they going to make sure the outgoing bank provides the info in a timely manner? Can you imgaine how slow and sloppy they will be when providing this information to their competitors? Also what if there is a mistake with the info provided whats the customers recourse? An account number portability system would be far better
