Can women's personal lives interfere with their professional reliability? One Australian Broker Online reader clearly thinks so...

Ah, such a laugh I had on these comments - Great way for this female broker to start the day ! Good brokers and good brokers, 'nuff said. Sid and the like will become extinct like dinosaurs do, in all industries... I hope he's have fun with his 'secretary' in the 'snow' with his 'GT3', while he's still a 'super broker'LOL :)

As a older Male I am sick to death of media push articles "Women can make better brokers". If as a business i said I stated a need for more alpha Males in my business, their would be an out cry and I would be threaten by the thought police (paid feminazi government depts)
for the last 30 years this has been relentless. For you young and newage men this is the environment you have been raised and progammed. You bend like the branches of a willow tree. I am claiming status as a minority group, An Australian Father who will not accept any more media reports on attacking men.

'Hard done-by men in the industry'!!! Haha that gave me a chuckle, nothing like a bit of tongue in cheek humour for a Friday.
Re Sidbroker - I think he actually makes a valid point. I have 2 young children and this impacts on my flexibity for my clients. No meetings after 6.30pm or weekend appointments. Even taking a phonecall after hours is difficult. I'm not sure this impacts on my 'professional reliability' though. I am wary of managing my clients expectations upfront ie outlining the process and how long each step taks in that process so that they are not constantly calling seeking updates.
But it's a challenging industry for women (with children mainly), no doubt about it.

It appears as though certain "older" men are still living in the land of dinosaurs. Open your eyes to the 21st century! Women were the inferior sex for way too long and now that we actually have a voice, the 'older' men are up in arms about it.
For those of you who are clearly threatened by more successful women entering into a very male dominated industry, get used to it!!! And yes, most people prefer speaking to a female broker because females actually listen.
And to the clown that said his female staff let “their personal lives interfear with their professional reliability” – were they imaginary staff? It does not make women unreliable just because they're not able to work the same hours as men. They are also raising a family which is far more important than your non-existent GT3. You try having a full time job and raising a family and we’ll see how ‘reliable’ you are! While you're off parading around in the snow, Port Group (which is very balanced with both males and females) are writing more loans than you and all the other sensitive males making comments put together. Now do us all a favour and go write your one loan a month.
And to the remaining sensitive and clearly threatened males here, read the article again and then go join sidbroker in his non-existent GT3 with his non-existent secretary.

ForTruth, what on earth are you talking about? Yes, there would be an outcry if you claimed you wanted more alpha males, just as there has been an outcry from men like you when someone says more women would be welcome. Do you not realise how hypocritical, fearful and backwards you sound? By the by, you don’t need to say you want more alpha males – the industry is already teaming with them, and statistics will show men get a better chance at securing a high-flying financial job than their female counterparts. You don’t need to ask – the industry already supports you due to thousands of years of sanctioned misogyny. Plus, you’re insulting progressive men who clearly have more integrity than you.

Simon H, "Thousands of years of sanctioned misogyny" What are you smoking. you either a female who is on the feminazi trip, or a gelded male raised up in the brave new world,

Feminazi? Are you really linking outspoken women to socialist and fascist movements? Ye gad man! Did you know women can now vote? Drive cars? Go to university? Oh what a world! Also, I daresay years of supression, predudice and being deliberately held back entitles women to moan a bit, don't you think? But of course, only for a little bit. Then it's back to the kitchen so you men can get on with being super-great, and stuff.

Dear oh dear. Perhaps ForTruth protests too much and knows, deep down, that it's true that women are better at broking. It's a well researched fact that we have greater empathy which, apart from knowledge, is the number one requirement for a successful broker.

im in stitches with the stupidity of some..ForTruth you must have far too much time on your hands because all you've managed to do is constantly insult women and men who disagree with you. Clearly you have been hurt by a woman and this in turn has made you very angry with the superior sex lol lol (by the way that means laugh out loud)
