Aggregator goes interstate with Sydney office

A boutique Victoria-based aggregator expands into new territory next month, with a new office set to open in early December.

Melbourne-based sub-aggregator Port Group will open a new office in Sydney as the company works to expand its business prospects.

Company Director Voula Kotsiras says that the group had been putting off the move for some time as they sought out the best person to represent them in their expansion into New South Wales.

That person turned out to be Kotsiras herself, along with newly arrived Adam Khoury, whom Kotsiras describes as a broker who is well established in Sydney and knows the market well.

“In the past our sole focus has been cultivating a strong Victorian presence, but we now believe that we have the right foundation, systems, processes and people to aggressively enter the Sydney market and allow us to potentially grow in other States over time.”

Port Group currently services 42 brokers, the majority of which are based in Victoria.

“While this new office in NSW will be the inaugural office, we are currently working on a number of groups who will be transitioning across in coming months.

She says Port Group hopes to eventually see NSW/Sydney comprise around 20% of their business.

"We are hoping to recruit at least one a month over our first 12 months, with a long term plan for our Sydney broker numbers and volume to match that of our Victorian operation."

The official launch date for Port Group’s Sydney headquarters is set for December 7.
