Does bank ownership of third-party distribution channels "muddy the waters" for brokers?

Brokers have jumped in on the debate about broker independence and bank ownership of third-party distribution channels. Outsource Financial CEO Tanya Sale last week told Australian Broker that bank ownership of aggregators "muddies the waters" when it comes to broker independence. Do you agree?     It is getting harder to know who is behind brands. As a broker I get emails all the time from re-badged home loans I can do myself and now with aggregators putting out their own white label products the waters are definitely becoming more and more muddier!

    This is just a drama beat up. My aggregator is owned by a big bank but despite that in no way has that connection ever impacted the way I do business nor impact the products my clients take.
