Some 5,000 meals over the holidays will be provided to people in need, through the help of mortgage broker Aussie Home Loans, in partnership with food rescue organisation OzHarvest.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Aussie to help families in need this Christmas. Together, we can put much needed food on the table for those who may not know where their next meal is coming from,” said OzHarvest CEO Ronni Khan.

OzHarvest is known for collecting over 100 tonnes of quality excess food each week from food donors across the country, and delivering it to more than 1,000 charities that support vulnerable men, women and children.

Hundreds of Aussie’s staff and mortgage brokers have prepared 287 food hampers, donated cash and more than 250 legs of ham for the charitable act, marking the second year Aussie has partnered with OzHarvest.

“I am proud our staff have become so involved in helping people in need though this great charity,” said Aussie CEO James Symond. Many of Aussie’s 215 stores across the country are also participating in Christmas food drives for OzHarvest and making donations to their local charities.
