Broker exec takes to streets to fight homelessness

The head of a large aggregator will be sleeping rough to raise funding to combat homelessness.

Loan Market executive chairman Sam White will take part in the annual St Vincent De Paul CEO Sleepout on June 21. White, who will join more than 1,000 executives nationwide taking part in the event, will sleep on the streets of Sydney for the event. He said the combatting homelessness was a natural fit for the company.

"The core of our business is to enable people to secure homes and with more than 100,000 Australians homeless we as a company have a responsibility to raise awareness of this terrible situation," he said.

White aims to raise $15,000 from the CEO Sleepout, and urged people to contribute.

"I would encourage everyone to donate to this worthy cause. Any donation big or small can make a difference. All the money raised through the sponsorship of participants goes directly towards St Vincent’s homeless services across the country," he said.

Hardly unique in the industry - he'll be joining Steven Porges, Aussie CEO on his second sleepout.
