Drop in jobs makes rate cut more likely

Aussies are finding it harder to find a job, according to newly released statistics.

The number of job vacancies dropped 3.3% in the three months to November, the ABS said.

The total number of vacancies in November 2011 was 181,000, in seasonably adjusted terms, compared with 187,100 in the previous quarterly survey in August.

In the public sector, the number of job vacancies dropped 3.7%, to 163,700 in November from170,000 in August.

However, there was a positive movement in the public sector,with jobs rising to 17,300 vacancies - 1% higher than three months previous.
