Mortgage franchise Aussie Home Loans has announced a newly established online community which it says will provide information and support to its brokers.

Called Aussie Chatter, the platform will act as a ‘one stop shop’ for over 1,000 brokers in the franchise through which members can develop their performance and their businesses while also sharing their experiences and expertise.

This community is part of Aussie’s training, support, mentoring and coaching facilities.

“Aussie Chatter is another key element in our work to drive our community of brokers to work together as a team and achieve more record results over coming years,” said Aussie chief executive James Symond.

“Aussie’s team comprises of many men and women with extensive experience in the financial service industry and they now have a forum through which they can impart their knowledge and tips to the younger members.”

Brokers can access Aussie Chatter via Salesforce with their individual logins either on their laptop, or via their mobile devices when on the road, Richard Burns, general manager of customer experience and technology and acting general manager of sales and distribution told Australian Broker.

“A key aspect for Aussie Chatter is that online support is available 24/7 which matches the variability of hours brokers operate,” he said. “Through the portal, our brokers can access knowledge articles through a google like search – of which there have been over 27,000 searches since going live – review lender updates, view news alerts and also raise enquiries with support in head office.”

A significant number of brokers have already used the portal to ask questions to other brokers, he added, with loan scenarios being the most asked about area.

“Experienced Aussie brokers have then been keen to respond and share expertise and knowledge. This instant knowledge sharing means rookie brokers can upskill quickly, and the main benefactor of this is, of course, their customers.”

Aussie has also gained insights through the community about how to improve its own service offering and has been working towards this, Burns said.

The platform works in conjunction with the Aussie Learning Portal, featuring loan and client scenarios as well as instructional tips. Regular updates are also provided in real-time on products and rates information while brokers can share their stories through a digital forum.

“Our vision is that Chatter would be a one stop shop for our brokers where they can log on to view their sales performance and commission information and gain access to business tools that can help grow their business.”

Aussie Chatter joins a range of training and development opportunities offered by Aussie Home Loans, including a Cert IV in Finance & Mortgage Broking, Diploma of Financial Services, a free two-year accredited mentoring program, and a year-round assortment of educational events.
