As a property investor, you would think that you’d have a keen eye on the incomings and outgoings on each and every one of your properties.
However, one mystery owner has to be tracked down by private investigator to be given her rent after 22 years.
The owner had inherited the harbour-side property in Sydney’s inner west, which continued to be rented for over two decades by Ray White Drummoyne principal Chris Wilkins, who tried to track down a landlord he had never met.
Finally, after 22 years, a private investigator engaged by the real estate agent tracked the owner down in the US. The property has since been sold at auction for $600,000.
