Local broker honoured with street name

by Caroline Dann29 Aug 2012

A Loan Market broker will have a local street named after him for his “services to the community,” said Ipswich City Council.

Mark Winter, a former Loan Market International Broker of the Year, helped establish a rugby club in the area, and was heavily involved in assisting victims of the 2011 floods.
“You usually only see sports stars getting streets named after them, not your run-of-the-mill mortgage broker like me,” said Mr Winter.
“I have lived in the area for many years and I have always had a passion for the Ipswich region and Brisbane’s western corridor,” he said.
Mark Winter Court is located in a new estate in Ipswich’s Bellbird Park.

ASIC will go him now unless he puts that on his Conflict of interest register and advises all of his future loan clients in his Credit proposal disclosure that local Council may name streets after him if he writes their loan.
