NAB has made indications it will look to grow its involvement in the broker channel.

NAB’s group executive for personal banking Gavin Slater has told The Australian the bank has strong prospects in the broker market. Currently 45% of NAB's mortgage flows come from the broker channel, above the industry average of 40%.  The broker channel also represents 30% of NAB's loan book.

NAB executive general manager Vicki Carter says the bank’s branch channel has been performing well, however, with loan drawdowns for the past two months a 25% higher than the same period last year.

NAB would be reducing the size of its branches by 25% in coming years, said Carter, but indicated no closures were eminent.
