A regional bank has chosen its new chief executive.

Bank of Queensland saw chief executive Stuart Grimshaw depart in August, and installed Jon Sutton as acting CEO. The Australian Financial Review has reported Sutton will be announce today as the regional bank’s permanent chief executive.

The AFR quoted sources saying Sutton had yet to sign a formal contract for the role. Sutton previously served as general manager of Bankwest before joining BoQ in 2012.

Bank of Queensland has vowed to expand its use of brokers following strong profit growth last year.
