Two majors snatch biggest mortgage share

by Caroline Dann02 Oct 2012

ANZ and NAB currently have the largest share of the mortgage market out of the big four, growing their books at twice the rate of Westpac and CBA.

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) showed ANZ had grown its lending book by 8.6% in the past year, while NAB followed closely behind at 8.3%.
By comparison, CBA and Westpac's books grew 4.5% and 4.1% respectively.
NAB's loan book has grown at twice the pace of CBA and Westpac, while ANZ had in fact started to slow despite trumping the other three in market share.
