Victims of a mortgage broker who has admitted to stealing $170,000 from them and allegedly “millions” of dollars more crammed into a courtroom to see him face justice.

Malcolm Royce Jones, 52, of Woodville North, has pleaded guilty to one count each of attempted deception and aggravated dishonestly dealing with a document.

The court has previously heard Jones’s offences, committed in September 2012, netted him $170,000.

Prosecutors told the court previously that up to 78 further charges worth "millions" may be filed against him.

When Jones appeared in the In the District Court of South Australia last Thursday, defence lawyers said much of the victims’ money was secured and inquiries were being made to determine how much could be recovered before his client was sentenced, local newspaper Adelaide Now reported.

Outside court, one of the victims told media he found it difficult to talk about Jones’s betrayal.
