Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said he and the US President had a 'truckload of issues' to talk about when the Barack Obama visits Australia next month.
They range from climate change to Afghanistan, but even higher on the to-do list will be the future of the global economy, reported the AFR.
"The recovery of the US economy is critical to us all and I'm all for boosting the Australia-US economic relationship," Rudd said.
Australia still looks to the US for a guarantee of security under the Australia-US alliance and the US is still the largest source of foreign investment in Australia.
Accompanied by his wife, Obama is expected to visit Sydney and Canberra.
