Kevin Matthews, executive director at AFG, has applauded Ralph Norris for hosting the country's top aggregators at a recent CBA executive lunch and says other banks should follow suit.
Speaking to Brokernews, Matthews described the CBA lunch as a "very good thing to do".
Matthews said the lunch showed that Norris and his team understood the third party model, "know how important brokers are to the bank" and see the broker channel as growing.
"Other lenders should have a think about inviting us in to meet their senior people," he said.
"We don't really talk to anyone above third party. It's good to look into the eyes of the person where the buck stops. It shows how supportive they are," he said, adding that aggregators were "entitled to meet these people".
The CBA/aggregator lunch saw Norris, along with head of retail banking services, Ross McEwan and other members of its executive team lunch with Choice Aggregation Services boss Brendan O’Donnell, PLAN CEO Ray Hair, Mortgage Choice CEO, Michael Russell, Smartline director Joe Sirianni, Challenger’s general manager for residential and commercial lending, Steve Weston and AFG director Kevin Matthews.
