More US bank failures

By Tim Neary | 16 Nov 2009

Regulators have closed two more banks in Florida, turning their deposits and branches over to Iberiabank Corp and shutting another small one in California.

The latest seizures mean that 123 banks have failed this year so far in the US, 11 of them in Florida, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

Observers expect the pace of American bank failures to continue - and even accelerate next year.
