    I've never seen a claim in 20+ years of lending. If everything is done correctly by the conveyancer leading up to settlement, I don't see the need! These companies, like mortgage insurers just make a killing charging unnecessary, overinflated premiums!

    Dead wrong guys, I have had client where non council approved structures have existed. A conveyancer never visits sale properties how would they even know there was a dwelling that may or may not be on the property. ALso what about homes that get stolen. This is one worthwhile insurance

    Not too sure what sort of a house someone is buying if it is able to be stolen!!! Perhaps buying a tent pegged to a block of dirt is not such a good idea. Buyer Beware :-)

    Agree with Spud that as a professional we have to know what is available and importantly what it does - just makes you look competent in your customers eyes !
