An SME lender has appointed a state sales manager to lead the teams in Western Australia and South Australia.

Scottish Pacific has welcomed Richard Waldman into the role, to manage and support the sales teams in Perth and Adelaide in helping ensure local businesses have access to the funds they require to grow.

“I’ve seen very viable, solid businesses not be able to find funding with the banks. Business owners have so much more than a bank overdraft at their disposal when it comes to funding their enterprises – but so many are still not aware of their options,” said Waldman.

“SMEs are the lifeblood of the Australian economy and if we can introduce more businesses in WA and SA to better funding options, it’s a win for the sector and the whole economy.”

Waldman will work alongside business owners and their advisers to tackle working capital problems using invoice finance, trade finance, import finance, asset finance and bad debt protection.

“I’m looking forward to working with SMEs and their accountants and commercial brokers in showing them a broader range of workable funding options,” he said.

Waldman joins Scottish Pacific following a career in the UK’s more mature invoice finance industry. His previous positions include being in senior management at the Royal Bank of Scotland, regional managing director with Aldermore Invoice Finance and national sales leader with Ultimate Finance.

“In Richard we have someone with extensive industry expertise who can help local businesses with the right funding,” said Scottish Pacific head of client acquisition Wayne Smith upon announcing the new appointment.
