Pepper Homeloans has appointed Richard Socratous to the new position of national sales manager, as part of the company’s core strategy to grow and support its retail home loan business.

The appointment of a national sales manager follows a series of new business development manager positions that were filled across all states over the past six months and a number of head office sales support roles created at the end of 2012.

As well as contributing to the management of Pepper’s retail and white label residential home loans portfolio, Richard will be responsible for day-to-day management of the sales team, sales strategy and performance.

Richard will report directly to Mario Rehayem, director sales and distribution, who says he’s pleased with Socratous’ appointment.

“We’ve seen incredible growth over the past year and the evolution of our leadership structure ensures that this growth is sustainable. Richard has a wealth of experience and knowledge and I’m confident he will prove a valuable asset to the team.”

Richard joins Pepper with over 22 years’ experience in the mortgage industry. In addition to roles in credit, sales and mortgage broking, Richard’s career includes several key management positions within one of Australia’s leading providers of lenders mortgage insurance.
