A major mortgage franchise is helping those less fortunate this Christmas with a food donation to feed thousands of people across Australia.

Aussie Home Loans has donated food to aid organisations across Australia this Christmas, including Mission Australia, The Salvation Army, Barnardos Foundation and the Exodus Foundation. The franchise said the food donation would help provide meals for thousands of disadvantaged people over the holiday period.

One of the organisations supported by the donation, the Exodus Foundation, said Aussie's support would help supply its annual Christmas lunch at its Sydney headquarters in Ashfield.

"We greatly appreciate the kind support and generosity of organisations such as Aussie Home Loans for helping to make Christmas a special experience. Christmas can be one of the hardest times of the year for many families and individuals who are faced with economic uncertainty, and it is especially important that communities and families can come together to celebrate," the Exodus Foundation's Bill Crews said.

Aussie chairman John Symond said the group was proud to be helping a record number of people this year.

“We believe that our simple contribution might help in a small way to make a difference to Christmas Day for both children and adults. We are delighted to support the Exodus Foundation in its efforts to keep the spirit of Christmas alive," he said.
