The FBAA yesterday unveiled its Broker Support Program (BSP), crafted to help its members through the economic struggles that have arisen from the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the association, the BSP is focused on helping members maintain strong businesses and emerge from the crisis stronger than before.

FBAA managing director Peter White applauded the industry for adapting to the current state of affairs so quickly, but also emphasised that some members are facing difficulties.

“This is a time for the industry to stand together, and the BSP is about caring for our member family both in a business and personal sense,” he said.

The program offers members access to:

  • A fee payment plan to pay current fees in instalments
  • A freeze on review of membership fee increases until after July 2021
  • Collateral assets to help generate business, such as a regularly-updated package of videos and social media and blog content under the slogan “Call your broker”
  • The ‘Call Your Broker’ Blueprint, a customer support strategy specifically designed for brokers
  • Weekly Q&A support hosted by White and featuring other guests from the industry, held online every Thursday
  • Further educational opportunities

“This is the start,” said White.

“We are developing other ways to help members, and our number one goal is for brokers to remain strong so that they can not only survive but thrive now and when this is all over.”
