The Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA) will use its national conference later this year as a means to recognise leaders in the industry.

This year’s national conference, to be held on 25 November, will this year for the first time include an awards ceremony in conjunction with the traditional gala dinner.

The awards are open to FBAA members and will include 15 categories, with the association looking to showcase those who are at the top of their game nationally in finance broking, mentoring, mortgages, motor finance and commercial asset finance.

"We even have a special award for the Business Development Manager of the year to recognise the hard work they do for brokers," the FBAA’s Peter White said.

The 2016 conference is themed ‘Bigger, Better, Stronger’ and will have a particular emphasis on the latest in regulation updates and product development and will feature keynote guest speakers who are from the small business management and the financial services sectors.

Speakers this year will include Yellow Brick Road chairman Mark Bouris as well as marketing specialist Adam Franklin and human resources expert Natasha Hawker.

The conference also welcomes back Detective Senior Constable Graeme Edwards from the Queensland Police Force’s Fraud and Cyber Group who will offer updates on the latest security issues relevant to the financial sector.

“The conference is ideal for brokers to gather, network, exchange ideas, and listen to some of the sharpest minds in not only the broking game but also small business who have a wealth of knowledge and advice,” White said.
