NAB has opened applications for $1,000 emergency grants to support customers who were severely impacted by flooding in WA and NT following ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie.

Those experiencing major structural damage or severe internal damage to their primary place of residence, including business and agriculture customers who have suffered severe damage to property, equipment, fencing, or loss of stock or livestock, can access the funds to address their immediate needs.

The support, available for NAB customers who live in officially declared WA and NT disaster areas, includes:

  • access to $1,000 grants to help cover costs such as temporary accommodation, food, and clothing (eligibility criteria applies)
  • $1,000 business grants to help restart or reopen and cover the cost of damaged property, equipment, and fencing, and for loss of stock or livestock.

The emergency grants will remain open until Jan. 24.

“Some of these communities in Western Australia are facing the worst floods in the state’s history,” said David Banks, NAB acting retail executive. “Flood-affected customers in both WA and NT need our support and we’re here to help them get through this. The recovery will be long, and this is one step forward in helping them start that journey.”

To apply, customers can visit nab.com.au/common/forms/disastergrant or contact their banker or call NAB Assist on:

  • 1300 308 132 for personal customers (8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, or 9am to 1pm Saturday AEDT)
  • 1300 769 650 for business customers (8am to 5pm Monday to Friday AEDT)

All enquiries will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the NAB Assist team to determine eligibility.

NAB is also offering emergency grants and a range of other financial relief measures to customers severely affected by flooding in South Australia, such as loan deferral or reduced payment arrangements, and waiving of some fees or charges relating to their accounts.
