In April, Aussie launched a national advertising campaign and in May, the group unveiled “aggressive expansion plans” for its network; now, the mortgage broker has revealed it is the new Presenting Partner for the increasingly-popular Moonlight Cinemas, coming to Australia's major cities this month.

The “iconic outdoor summer experience” by EVENT Cinemas and Val Morgan, kicks off this month and will run through to April 2021; set in inner-city spots, Moonlight Cinema will be airing a range of films, from blockbusters to cult classics, in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.

As Aussie CEO James Symond sees it, the outdoor movie nights have taken on an increased significance this year.

“Now more than ever, Aussies are looking forward to getting out there with their family and friends this summer and re-connecting after a challenging year for all,” he said.

“As a family style business, community and connections have always been central to the Aussie brand, which is why I’m delighted we are partnering with Moonlight Cinema this season to help celebrate bringing people together.”

The CEO also expressed excitement the group’s brokers will be able to connect with customers though the unique opportunities made available by the partnership.

“Off the back of Aussie’s strong $16m investment in marketing this year to support our broker network, this partnership further adds to Aussie’s commitment to continue to strengthen our position as Australia’s most recognised mortgage broker brand,” said Symond.

Luke Mackey, Event Cinemas director of entertainment Australia, echoed Symond’s sentiments around the importance of this year’s proceedings.

“2020 has been a tough year for everyone, making Moonlight the perfect way to come together and celebrate a summer of movies under the stars and provide audiences a much-needed escape,” said Mackey.

“With a shared vision and genuine commitment to community, we look forward to bringing the much-loved and unique Moonlight experience to Australians across the country, in conjunction with Aussie.”
