Brokers gain faster approvals as AMP rolls out platform

AMP Bank launches new lender platform with nationwide broker onboarding

AMP Bank has officially begun onboarding brokers to its new AMP Bank Lender Platform, describing it as the first of its kind in the Australian market.

The nationwide rollout between 14 and 29 August follows extensive pilot testing and marks what the bank says is a major milestone in delivering faster, simpler, and more consistent lending experiences.

The custom-built platform was co-designed with brokers to go beyond existing market solutions, integrating technology across both pre- and post-submission stages to enable faster credit decisions, fewer touchpoints, and less rework for brokers and their customers.

The overhaul followed BDM feedback that the existing platform needed a complete rethink. With more than 95% of home loans written through brokers, the goal was a faster, less repetitive, and more seamless solution for brokers and customers.

To encourage broker adoption, AMP has also launched a limited-time $2,000 cashback promotion available exclusively through the broker channel for eligible home loans submitted via the new platform. The offer runs until Sept. 30 for selected loan packages, with settlement required by Dec. 31. AMP said the incentive is designed to reward borrowers while supporting brokers in transitioning to the new system.

Brokers report “extraordinary” results from pilot

Jasmine Alexander (pictured left), broker at Prosperity Mortgage Partners, who took part in the pilot, said her first submission through the platform produced “nothing short of extraordinary” results.

“We were able to refinance their existing lending and secure finance for a new purchase within just one business day,” Alexander said. “That kind of speed is virtually unheard of. I’m incredibly grateful to my AMP Bank BDM and the broader AMP Bank team for pushing the boundaries with this new platform and making it happen.

She said she was impressed by how easy the platform was to navigate and how responsive and supportive the team had been throughout the process, noting it showed what was possible when the right people worked together with focus and dedication.

Designed to cut turnaround times and duplication

Melissa Christy (pictured centre) said the onboarding milestone represented “an industry step-change” in the broker and customer experience.

“Brokers told us they wanted a platform that cuts turnaround times, reduces duplication, and frees them up to focus on their customers and their business – we were determined to give it to them,” Christy said.

“Every feature is designed to help them deliver a faster, more consistent lending experience – from upfront income and expense verification to loan documents issued in as little as 90 seconds. We’re excited to see our broker partners start using it.”

AMP Bank reaffirms commitment to brokers

Michael Christofides (pictured right), director of lending and everyday banking at AMP Bank, said the platform launch reflects AMP Bank’s commitment to the broker channel.

“There’s a good reason why so many Australians now turn to brokers for their home loan needs – they bring valuable insights, expert guidance, and access to a wider range of lending solutions that many borrowers wouldn’t find on their own,” Christofides said.

“Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for brokers to help their customers create wealth through property, when selecting AMP Bank.”

Key features of the AMP Bank lender platform

  • Faster approvals with upfront income and expense verification
  • Real-time credit and decisioning rules before submission
  • Ability to re-use VOI completed via ID Verse
  • Potential for loan documents to be issued in 90 seconds
  • Greater visibility and control with quicker time to ‘yes’
  • Customised two-minute personal videos for borrowers at document and settlement stages to improve engagement and speed up signing

Training and support for brokers

To help brokers and their staff transition smoothly, AMP Bank has launched a dedicated training hub featuring step-by-step guides, training videos, and live weekly webinars on platform features, digital income verification, and supporting document requests.

Brokers and office staff don’t need to wait until their onboarding date to prepare. They can access the online training webinars – with CPD points allocated – now to be ready to “hit the ground running.”
