AFG’s annual awards ceremony has been dubbed a ‘huge success’ by organisers, who say around 300 brokers and lenders attended the July 19 event at Doltone House in Sydney’s Hyde Park.

“The afternoon was a huge success, the highlights really were the winners of all our awards – very well deserved,” says AFG NSW/ACT state manager, Stephen Doyle.

“Our champions for the day were Oxygen Homeloans for champion group and the NSW champion broker was Roger Guo. These were, of course, stand outs - but also our business operators of the year went to John and Katrina Rowlands. This was a great recognition for their on-going success.”

Doyle says that, fortunately, the event went exceptionally smoothly, with no significant mishaps, largely thanks to two people.

“Rob Carlton, our MC and Maria Mazzucco of AFG who assisted enormously with the organisation of the event, made a significant contribution to the running of the day.”

The Mortgage Success Scholarship was another highlight, according to Doyle.

“The Mortgage Success Scholarship was awarded in conjunction with CBA and Institute of Strategic Management. This initiative is a recognition of assisting women to excel in our industry, by a strong mentoring and education program. This year the recipient is Nicole Cannon of Pink Finance. We are delighted to support such a program and Nicole is a deserving winner that we can see will benefit significantly in the year ahead.”

While photos of the event weren’t ready in time for today’s newsletter, keep an eye out in up-coming editions of Australian Broker print edition to see if you were caught on camera.
