In the expanded role, Campbell will lead investment strategy across all asset classes for NAB Private Wealth and JBWere, covering strategic and tactical asset allocation, portfolio construction, and manager selection.
The appointment comes amid strong year-on-year growth across NAB Private Wealth, with increases reported in funds under management, household lending, and deposits. JBWere’s funds under management rose 15% over the past year to almost $50 billion.
The wealth manager also recently partnered with global asset manager BlackRock to give clients customised risk‑and‑return insights via the Aladdin Wealth platform, which models macro and market scenarios on portfolios and complements JBWere’s 185‑year record in tailored advice.
Campbell brings more than 25 years of experience across private markets, institutional investment, and multi-asset portfolio construction.
Previously deputy chief investment officer and head of private markets for Cbus Super, she is currently the CEO of a large Australian family office, where she has built a diversified, high-growth portfolio with global exposure.
Campbell's broader career includes senior roles with leading institutional investors, funds management and advisory firms, and service on boards and investment committees of major companies and institutions.
She will join NAB Private Wealth and JBWere as chief investment officer in 2026.
Michael Saadie, NAB executive for Private Wealth and JBWere CEO, said Campbell’s appointment reflected the group’s continued investment in its advisory and investment capability.
“Alexandra has a deep understanding of investment strategy and client objectives, and a proven record of delivering investment outcomes," Saadie said.
“Her leadership will be integral as we enhance the breadth and sophistication of our private wealth offering. The appointment reinforces our commitment to outstanding client outcomes through a unique integrated private wealth and banking platform.”
Campbell said it was a privilege to join NAB Private Wealth.
“JBWere has a long and respected history of partnering with clients to build wealth across generations,” she said.
"It is exciting to have the opportunity to lead the investment strategy for Australia’s oldest and largest advisory firm and support all Private Wealth clients more broadly.
“A disciplined, long-term approach to asset allocation, complemented by tactical opportunities while managing risk, is central in achieving the investment objectives of clients. I am looking forward to delivering client outcomes with this approach.”
