A Victorian-based Westpac BDM has been awarded the prestigious CEO Award for Retail & Business Banking Banker of the Year by the major bank’s chief executive, Gail Kelly herself.

Westpac Broker BDM June Liu took out the honour at the CEO Awards dinner this week, which celebrates the contribution of Westpac employees, and the difference they are making to help customers and communities grow.

In winning the award, Liu has been recognised as one of the most productive and effective BDMs in the industry. This year, she has exceeded $2.5 billion in new lending.

Coupled with Westpac BDM Craig Dunning's recent accolade as Australian BDM of the Year at the AMAs last month, Liu’s achievement reinforces that Westpac's ongoing investment towards BDM capability in the broker channel is working.

"Westpac understands that education is key for capable and reliable BDMs and high quality, consultative BDMs is what Brokers will see engrained within our workforce,” Kerri Webster, Westpac State General Manager for Victoria/Tasmania said.

"The role of the broker continues to evolve and now more than ever they need the support of a consultative BDM to stay ahead of the game. We are resolutely focused on providing the most capable, responsive and proactive BDMs in the industry who are willingly to do things differently to take brokers into the future.”
