A Melbourne-based banking giant has appointed a new leader within its leveraged and acquisition finance business.

Michael Isaacs, who was most recently executive director within ANZ’s loan syndications team, has been appointed co-head of the bank’s origination, leveraged, and acquisition finance for Australia.

Isaacs, who has been with ANZ since 2015, brings to his new role strong deal origination and leadership capabilities and will work closely with the full team to ensure growth across the bank’s leveraged and acquisition finance franchise, FinanceAsia reported.

Based in Sydney, Isaacs will work alongside Leigh Johnson and report to Mark Aldous, head of asset and leveraged finance.

Prior to joining ANZ, Isaacs was with RBS, where he led infrastructure and acquisition finance for Australia. He also worked at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (MUFG), FA reported.
