Assetline Capital has appointed Cassandra Vella (pictured) as NSW/ACT state manager, reinforcing the non-bank lender's push to expand its distribution footprint across long-term mortgages and bridging finance in two of Australia's largest broker markets.
Vella brings more than a decade of experience across the mortgage and broking industry, having held senior roles at La Trobe Financial, RedZed, and Pepper Money. Her appointment follows the promotion of her predecessor, Laura Stanley, who now co-leads Assetline's private lending division alongside Steven Filler — part of a broader push that AltX Financial Group co-chief executive Steven Beinart described as reflecting private credit having "moved from a niche solution to a core part of the financing landscape in Australia."
The Vella hire comes on the back of strong performance within Assetline's Horizon Mortgages business, which recorded a 105% year-on-year increase in volumes as brokers increasingly turn to non-bank lenders for flexible long-term lending solutions.
Royden D'Vaz, Assetline's general manager of distribution and partnerships, said the appointment was a direct response to that momentum.
"We've seen significant growth across Horizon Mortgages over the past 12 months, with volumes more than doubling year-on-year, and we're continuing to invest in the right people to support that momentum," D'Vaz said.
He added that her background across both specialist and non-bank lending made her well-suited to the role.
"Cassandra brings deep industry experience, strong broker relationships, and a genuine understanding of what brokers need from a lending partner in today's market," D'Vaz said.
Vella said the opportunity to grow Assetline's NSW and ACT presence was well-timed.
"There is a real opportunity to continue growing the Horizon Mortgages and Bridging Loans offering across NSW and the ACT, particularly as more brokers look for lending partners who can provide flexibility and fast decision-making," she said.
Vella also pointed to Assetline's reputation in the market as a key drawcard.
"Assetline has built a strong reputation in the market for being commercial, responsive, and easy to work with, which is exactly what brokers are looking for," she said.
Assetline Capital has funded more than $7.5 billion in property-backed transactions since 2012 across residential mortgages, bridging finance, private lending, and development finance.
