Australia Post will now be making referrals to a business lending specialist available to its customers, in a bid to help ensure they are able to access the funds necessary to run and grow their businesses.

From this week, both over-the-counter and online small business customers can be referred to Valiant Finance, a group which matches borrowers to the best loan option and interest rate to suit their needs from a panel of more than 50 lenders.

Director of strategic partnerships, Paul Barker, said Valiant is thrilled to be partnering with “one of Australia’s most iconic brands”, especially one that is also passionate about supporting Australian businesses.

Valiant’s proprietary platform will be integrated into Australia Post’s website and retail POS systems, enabling small business customers to easily get an online quote and book an appointment with a business finance specialist; the Valiant platform manages the end-to-end process from enquiry to settlement.

“Providing access to business lending providers for Australia Post customers represents our biggest white-label expansion to date,” said Barker.

Since launching in 2015, Valiant has helped fund more than $650m in lending for its customers.

Australia Post general manager of payments and financial services, Deanne Keetelaar, provided some context around the decision to partner with Valiant.

“We are proud of the role our post office network already plays in expanding access to vital government and financial services in communities across Australia, particularly in regional and remote locations,” she said.

“We know small business owners rely on us to connect them with products and services that help them prosper, so we see this service as a natural extension of the support we already offer.”
