Non-bank bridging lender Bridgit has appointed Alf Vasta (pictured) as its new NSW state manager, adding a two-decade broker distribution veteran to its sales leadership.

The appointment follows a strong run for the lender: earlier this month, Bridgit marked $1 billion in cumulative loans, with the company signalling it intends to keep expanding its non-bank lending position through the rest of 2026.

Growth momentum behind the hire

Bridgit's chief operating officer, David McQueen, welcomed the appointment as a strong fit for the lender's NSW ambitions.

"Alf is exactly the calibre of leader we want at Bridgit as we grow in NSW," McQueen said.

He pointed to Vasta's standing among brokers as a key factor behind the hire, noting "His reputation in the broker market speaks for itself."

Broker channel experience front and centre

Vasta's appointment brings substantial broker-facing credentials to Bridgit's expansion plans. He has spent 20 years working across broker distribution in both Australia and the UK, including a stint leading the broker channel as head of broker distribution at MoneyPlace, and most recently serving as a business development manager at Liberty.

In his new role, Vasta will lead Bridgit's NSW BDM team and take responsibility for strengthening the lender's ties with brokers and aggregators across the state. That momentum is part of what drew him to the role.

"For quite some time now, I've been watching Bridgit grow and establish itself as a leader in bridging finance within the industry and the broker community," he said.

Vasta added that the existing NSW team was well placed to build on that momentum, saying "The NSW team is strong and I'm looking forward to ensuring we continue to provide industry-leading service."
