Moving beyond the royal commission, a broker group has plans to expand its panel of lenders and ehance the technology available to its broker network.

According to Mortgage Choice CEO Susan Mitchell, “Everyone’s been sitting on the edge of their chair for the last year, but now it’s time to grow.”

Mitchell said the group plans to ramp up recruitment efforts to grow its broker number, as well as to implement measures to facilitate growth within its brokers’ businesses through introducing heightened administrative support.

Earlier this year, Mortgage Choice introduced a file management feature to support consistent process management of loans from application to settlement, a tool which has been credited as a “key driver of efficiency” in its franchisees’ businesses.

Additionally, the group embedded loan selection software into its broker platform to take care of a variety of tasks automatically, with continued plans to “incorporate new features to futureproof the company.”

The brokerage also expanded its lender panel through a recent partnership with Qudos Bank.

Acknowledging that “credit appetite and policy has shifted significantly,” Mortgage Choice GM of product and corporate communications, Emma Dupont-Brown, welcomed the addition, which offers more choice to a wider array of borrowers.

She said, “Qudos Bank offers some great points of difference for borrowers who may have had limited choice of lenders when seeking a home loan for a small apartment, larger acreage properties and multiple dwellings on one title.”

Peter Machell, owner of a Mortgage Choice franchise in Victoria, was also excited at the news.

He explained, “Many of our customers seek home loans for land zoned as rural farming or rural residential and the reality is that these borrowers often have a limited choice of lender. It’s great that we can continue to cater to their needs by offering these customers more choice.”

Mortgage Choice will begin offering Qudos Bank’s range of home loan products next month.
