Specialist retirement lender Household Capital has appointed Natalie Sheehan (pictured) as chief growth officer, hiring a senior broker-channel executive from Bendigo and Adelaide Bank as it expands its reverse mortgage business.
Sheehan took up the Melbourne-based role in October and sits on the lender’s executive team. According to her LinkedIn profile, her brief spans company-wide strategy, new market development, and intermediary channels.
The hire comes as the lender scales up. In October, Household Capital completed a $304 million mortgage securitisation to fund reverse mortgage growth. It was the lender’s third such deal, aimed at demand from Australians aged 60 and over. Two months earlier, it completed its acquisition of Macquarie Bank’s reverse mortgage portfolio. Originating since 2019, the lender’s contracted book now tops $1.2 billion.
Sheehan’s brief is to put that capacity to work through brokers and partners.
Sheehan joins after more than three and a half years as head of broker and strategic partnerships at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, where she also chaired the bank’s broker compliance committee. Before that, she led distribution at non-bank lender Brighten Home Loans from 2020 to 2023. That role followed sales and business development roles at Resimac, Pepper, and Resicom Financial. She started out in mortgage broking in the early 2000s.
Across her career, she lists more than $20 billion in residential settlements, broker networks expanded to over 21,000 accredited brokers, and national business development manager teams with an 89% net promoter score.
Household Capital said Sheehan’s “deep broker relationships and passion for customer-first innovation” would be key to its expansion plans, as more Australians “look to home equity to enhance retirement funding and achieve financial wellbeing”.
She will also oversee deals with aggregators, super funds, wealth managers, and financial planners, from referral arrangements to white-label products, as the lender looks to expand home equity lending nationally.
