Genworth Australia has announced the appointment of Paul Fegan as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective today.

A spokesperson for the mortgage insurance provider says Fegan has more than 30 years of experience in financial services with NAB, St. George Bank and AMP, including experience in finance, capital management, corporate strategy and sales.

Fegan worked at NAB for more than 20 years, holding various divisional and senior leadership roles in Australia, the United States, Hong Kong and the UK. In 2002, he joined St. George Bank and in 2007 was appointed CEO and managing director.

Since 2009, Fegan has been a non-executive director of AMP Limited and in 2010 became chairman of the board audit committee.

Genworth’s president and CEO, Ellie Comerford, says she’s pleased with Fegan's appointment.

“Paul brings with him strong leadership expertise, financial acumen, and a market reputation that will be invaluable as we continue our efforts to deliver on our strategic priorities as well as our commitments to our customers and shareholders.”
