Heritage Bank has appointed Jan Manigque as its new head of internal audit. She will commence her new role on June 6 and will be based in Brisbane.

Manigque succeeds Ashu Kakar, who has been appointed to the newly created role of head of prudential risk and assurance at Heritage.

Manigque, who boasts nearly two decades of experience in risk and audit roles for financial services organisations, was most recently head of group internal audit for the RACQ Group in Brisbane. Prior to that, she held roles with Bupa and the QBE Group, covering several countries across Asia Pacific whilst based in Hong Kong, the Suncorp Group in Australia, and Ernst & Young in Australia.

“Manigque brings a wealth of international experience, particularly in ensuring that the internal audit function creates real value for the business, as well as in mentoring and developing teams,” Heritage CEO Peter Lock said. “She brings the right mix of skills and experience to ensure our internal audit function is world-class.”
