A mortgage industry veteran has launched a new service that allows brokers to receive positive reviews from their clients.

Intouch Finance CEO and Wizard Home Loans founding partner Paul Ryan has launched Kudosto, a new positive-only review site. The site allows consumers to deliver positive feedback to small businesses, or individual employees within businesses. Ryan told Australian Broker the site would focus on positive feedback as negative reviews could sometimes unfairly hamper small businesses.

"I'm not a fan of consumers being able to tarnish the reputation of a business on the back of one experience," he said.

Ryan said a consumer survey revealed 15% of consumers would not visit a business if it had even a single negative online review.

“Negative online feedback has the potential to severely tarnish the reputation of a business, and even cripple a small or start-up business,” Ryan said.

Ryan said the site would allow brokers to garner positive feedback from satisfied clients.

"What they can do is register their business with us for free. Once they have registered their business, they'll be given a unique URL. They can promote that and download it to their website. Then they can link through to the independent kudos they've been getting," he said.

While the site is free for consumers and businesses, Ryan said businesses had the option of purchasing a $190 annual membership which provided their business with a landing page that includes a logo, description, contact details and any further information.

“We’re looking to be a driving force in boosting customer service levels across the board in Australia. Every business stands to benefit from receiving Kudos, and for those not receiving Kudos – they may need to step back and ask themselves why,” Ryan said.
