The MFAA has appointed AFG executive director, Malcolm Watkins as an additional director to the MFAA board.

Watkins, who has over 30 years’ experience in the finance industry, is currently an executive director for ASX-listed aggregator AFG where he is responsible for the aggregator’s technology development programs and national marketing operations.

A huge advocate for technology, he has stated that the way that brokers respond to the digital age will determine the future of the industry.

Speaking about his appointment, which will commence in November 2015, Watkins says he is thrilled to be joining the board in such dynamic and changing times for the industry.

“The MFAA plays an important role in an increasingly complex regulatory environment and is the advocate for the industry and its thousands of members working hard every day to meet the needs of their customers,” Watkins said.

“Those members need a strong and informed representation. I am delighted to join the MFAA board and look forward to working with the board and management team as the MFAA positions itself as the voice of the industry.”
