The Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) has opened submissions for the 2021 Excellence Awards, which includes two new distinctions aimed a recognising commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The Diversity and Inclusion Program Award and Diversity Champion Award will complete the 24 recognitions that will be given during the awards season.

These two new distinctions are part of MFAA's efforts to recognise the industry members who walk the talk when it comes to diversity and inclusion, said Dan Walsh, MFAA head of education.

"After a year that tested the resilience of our industry, it is terrific to be able to acknowledge the achievements of our members and the wonderful work they do in helping Australians realise their dreams," he said.

Walsh said this year's Excellence Awards will also be able to recognise industry members who were able to assist their clients and customers amid the economic challenges.

“In rising to the challenges of 2020 our members showed professionalism and commitment, while demonstrating the true value of their outstanding service both to customers and the economy more broadly," he said.

Submissions for the State Excellence Award will close at 9 February. For the National Excellence Award, submissions will be accepted until 9 March.
